ACCEPTABLE FILE FORMATS FOR MOST PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS
Our promotional product suppliers accept Adobe Illustrator vector artwork saved as an .ai or .eps file with all type created to outlines or curves. Resolution: 300 – 600 DPI. Some will accept high-resolution PDF files. We’ll advise you which format to use when we discuss your selected products.
For embroidered products: We require digitized files in Tajima format with color sequencing. If you require digitizing services, we’ll advise you on the required format for your artwork.
For file compression: Please use Stuffit® or HBX (BinHex).
ArtArtwork will be sized as large as possible or at your designer’s discretion for visual appeal, unless otherwise specified.
Unsupported Art File Formats: InDesign, QuarkXpress, Pagemaker, Freehand, and Photoshop. Microsoft Office Programs (Microsoft Word, Micorsoft PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) are not graphics programs and cannot be recognized as acceptable artwork file formats.
Don’t forget that we offer graphic design services, too. Have questions? Contact us. That’s why we’re here.
CUSTOM PRINTING REQUIREMENTS
If we design your materials, we’ll take care of all the artwork requirements for you. If you choose to print artwork that you, or your designer, have already developed, please make note of these requirements:
We will supply you with eps or jpeg templates.
Four-Color Print: Please submit your files in CMYK format with fonts embedded in a high-res PDF file format. Any files not submitted in CMYK format may color shift when processed, so please keep this in mind if you are converting RGB to CMYK or PMS (Pantone Colors) to CMYK color modes.
One or Two-Color Print: For one or two-color print jobs, please save files in high-res PDF files using Pantone spot colors.
Resolution: We require a minimum resolution of 300 DPI for all files. Artwork, designs and images submitted with a lower resolution than 300 DPI may not print as sharply and cleanly.
Bleed: We require all files be sent with 1/8″ on all sides. Please ensure that all items, except for background images, be at least 1/8″ from the trim line. Any text or graphics falling closer than 1/8″ to the trim line run the risk of being cut off.
Layout: Always submit your files as single pages. Our printers’ automated imposition software will do the rest.
If our trade printers reject your submitted artwork for problematic issues, we will advise you so that you, or your designer, can correct them. Let us know if you need us to rectify the artwork for you. Please note that there is a small fee to re-submit artwork a second time.
We are happy to e-mail the appropriate templates for your use to ensure that your artwork is laid out correctly.
